Clare Crawley is definitely feeling the backlash from The Bachelorette fans as her intense season plays out.
The hairdresser’s hunt for love has been like no other due to the fact it was filmed in the middle of pandemic, but that’s not been the main reason for the drama.
After weeks of widespread speculation that the 39-year-old quit the series to be with contestant Dale Moss, fans have been able to see just how smitten Clare was from the start.
Her close friend DeAnna Pappas, who starred in the Bachelorette in 2008, opened up about how the TV star was coping with the criticism regarding her first few episodes.
She told fellow Bachelor Nation stars Ashley Iaconetti and Ben Higgins on their podcast, Almost Famous: ‘On most days, she’s feeling really down about the things that people are saying about her online and the editing of the show.
‘So, actually, the girls and I, we all sent her some flowers today just to let her know that we love her and this is a blip.’
DeAnna, who is married to former Bachelor producer Stephen Stagliano, also appeared to tease the fact that Clare and Dale were still going strong.
She continued: ‘Whatever the outcome is tomorrow night, she’s going to walk away and she’s gonna be able to move on and hopefully have someone that she genuinely loves and can be with and people will forget about this. They’ll move on.’
While Clare has since denied that she actually quit the show for Dale, the pair are rumored to be engaged.
For those who don’t know, Clare was reportedly so taken by Dale that she reportedly walked away from the series to be with him.
This left all the other men on the show, who then reportedly found themselves fighting for the affection of Tayshia Adams instead. Talk about a plot twist!
The Bachelorette continues tonight on ABC, while the series is available to stream on hayu in the UK.
