Georgia Harrison has revealed the reason she has been in hospital over Christmas in Dubai is because she has had a ruptured cyst which has left many of her organs ‘severely infected’.
The former Love Island star, 26, had kept fans updated as she was rushed into hospital on Christmas Eve after suffering abdominal pains which she suspected were due to a kidney infection.
She spend Christmas Day in hospital in Dubai, revealing her friends including fellow Love Islander Kaz Crossley had stopped in to see her and bring her gifts.
Concerned fans had been messaging Georgia for an update, after she had revealed she’d had such a bad fever her whole bed was drenched in sweat the night before.
She explained the cause of the mystery illness, telling her followers: ‘I had a ruptured cyst without knowing and it has caused multiple organs in my body to become severely infected, my kidneys being the worst.
‘The doctors here are amazing and we’re doing our best to fight the infection but currently I am still suffering with high fever, when not on paracetamol, and abdominal/ back pain.
‘Lots of you have been asking for an update so there it is, I’ve never been someone to be shy of sharing my day to day life with my followers.
‘You are there every step of the way and your messages are appreciated.’
Georgia admitted the ordeal had been terrifying, adding: ‘I’ve never fallen ill like this before, the only time I’ve been in hospital was to pick up some boobs so it’s been a real shock to me and quite scary.
‘But I have lots of amazing friends in Dubai who have bought me presents, clothes, flowers, food and I’m in extremely good hands when it comes to the medical team here.’
Georgia had told her followers on Christmas Eve that she had been hospitalised for at least a few days with a mystery illness, but reassured them it wasn’t coronavirus-related.
She’d said: ‘I don’t want to panic you all because I’m in a stable condition, but I’ve got to be kept in for three days.
‘That’s why I’m not out with everyone tonight. I’ve never spent Christmas Eve on my own, let alone in hospital in Dubai.
‘This has been the maddest week of my life. It’s not Covid – they’ve done a Covid test, so that’s one thing.’
She had also shared a DM from a fan suggesting that illnesses could flare up at stressful times in people’s lives, following Georgia’s claims Stephen Bear had shared a sex tape of her which had been recorded on CCTV without her knowledge.
