A REAL-life Fagin couple used a six-year-old boy to steal a £67,000 watch from Harrods.
Shameless Ilie Para and Marta Para-Bloj, from Romania, stashed the 18-carat Royal Offshore Oak timepiece in the lad's hood.Ilie Para and Marta Para-Bloj stole a £64k watch
The couple, both 33, were caught days later at the port of Dover as they attempted to return to their native home.
Para was wearing the rose-gold luxury watch on the wrist at the time.
He and pregnant Para-Bloj have been remanded in custody after they admitted theft from a shop.
Southwark Crown Court heard how the couple had travelled to the swanky Knightsbridge department store to scope it out in the days leading up to the theft.
They were captured on CCTV trying on watches from a display as they took photos.
Both were then seen leaving the shop in the same black Audi they tried to flee the country in just over a week later.
Prosecutor Dominic Hockley said: "The Crown say this was plainly a reconnaissance mission.
"When they found the watch they were interested in they took photographs, no doubt intending to obtain a realistic replica.
"We say this has shown planning and sophistication."
On September 19, the pair returned to Harrods with the young boy in tow and asked to see the display.
They specifically requested to see an 18-carat rose gold Royal Oak offshore self-winding chronograph worth £67,400.
When the sales assistant turned her back to put the other watches back in the stacks, Para stashed the watch and replaced it on the stand with a replica hidden in the youngster's hood.
The thieves then claimed they needed time to consider and got "edgy" when asked for their contact details.
The store only discovered the swap the next day when a sales assistant realised the watch's dial was different and it was missing its serial number.
Judge Michael Grieve, QC, said: "It seems to me on the CCTV the child was crying and ready to leave but leaned forward when [Para] reached out."
The court was told Para-Bloj is currently pregnant and "having particular difficulties and concerns".
