The presenter, 50, described what it was like to clash with Piers frequently on the show, and also talked about the difference between him and co-presenter Ben Shephard.
‘Ben Shephard is much more like a warm hug, whereas Piers Morgan is like sitting next to a pincushion,’ she told The Times.
‘We do fight like Punch and Judy, verbally. We’re sparring all the time. You say he takes up more of the oxygen, but I use my chunk of time, I hope, very wisely.’
Susanna also revealed that she’d had some misgivings at first about being paired with the controversial TV presenter, telling show bosses: ‘Do you know what you’re doing?’
Despite the pair often clashing on-screen, Susanna said that they have a good understanding off camera.
‘Piers knows that I’m private about my life and more recently he respects that,’ she said.
Discussing whether she had ever had words about their confrontations on screen, she said: ‘No, Piers doesn’t get told. But for all his sort of reputation on air, off air we have a good relationship. He respects my boundaries.’
Susanna has been the lead presenter on Good Morning Britain alongside Piers and Ben since 2014.
It comes after Susannah put Piers in his place by branding him ‘disingenuous’ in his argument about the rumoured coronavirus vaccine passports, with speculation mounting that they’ll come into effect to allow the country to get back to normality.
Piers was all for the measures, which have so far been denied by the Government in regards to shopping on the high street. However, they have said the passports may be necessary for travel.
Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays at 6am on ITV
