The Voice UK: Little Mix star Jesy Nelson’s cousin to audition for talent show

1 month ago 7

Little Mix star Jesy Nelson’s cousin is set to audition for The Voice UK tonight.

During Saturday’s instalment, 34-year-old Jamie-Leigh Nelson will take to the stage in a bid to impress the coaches.

But, will she get a turn?

Speaking in the VT before her stunning performance, Jamie-Leigh revealed that despite her parents not being very musical, it does run in the family.

That is when she reveals that Jesy is one of her cousins.

‘I started singing at the age of four,’ Jamie-Leigh explained in the VT.

‘There are people in the family that are definitely musical.

‘One of my cousins is Jesy Nelson from Little Mix. I just see her work so hard. She really wanted it and she went out there and she got it, so it made me think “If she can do it, then I can do it”.’

‘They have done so well and I am really proud of her,’ Jamie-Leigh added.

It is thought that Jamie-Leigh’s audition was recorded before Jesy revealed she was leaving Little Mix.

In December, the 29-year-old took to Instagram to announce that she was leaving the band after nine years to focus on her mental health.

Following Jesy’s decision, her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards decided to carry on with the group as a trio.

Earlier this month, the girls landed their first number one with Sweet Melody as a three-piece months after its release.

The Voice airs tonight at 8.30pm on ITV.
